We don't stand on the sidelines.. we have a rugby talent on our team.

Charlie Vine playing rugby

Charlie has played over 300 matches for the Lydney 1st team, in the Forest of Dean. His passion for the game started at a very young age and he played rugby for over 20 years and is now enjoying his well earned retirement. The first game played at Lydney was on 22 November 1888 (although not with Charlie in it!). The club was originally nicknamed "the Tinplaters" because most players worked in the tin mines, but later it was more widely known as the Severnsiders. The club is widely supported and Apex is one of Lydney Rugby club’s proud sponsors.
