History

The origins of Apex Architecture date back to 1980 when Architect David Hurcombe, its founding member began practicing architecture in Bloomsbury Square in the West End of London. In 1983 David moved to the city and formed an office in Holborn Viaduct in part of the viaduct structure. The current London base is in Greenwich.

In 1990 the practice opened its office in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire in a beautiful rural location surrounded by woodland. In summer 2014 the practice opened a new office in the centre of Bristol a short walk from the M-shed and new harbour side development. These locations combined with our London base gives us easy access to projects stretching from the Southeast to Southwest of England, the Midlands and South Wales.

Richard Jones a Chartered Surveyor joined Apex as a director in 2005 and Charlie Vine a Chartered Architectural Technologist became a director in 2011. These appointments reflect our policy of providing a multi- disciplinary approach to design and construction management. Through organic growth Apex Architecture plans to continue to expand its services strength and depth, providing great buildings and homes for great people.
